Melanie Marino (PhD, Civil Engineering – Boston)
I am a 2nd year PhD candidate in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Northeastern University. Along the way, I am also pursuing a master’s degree in Engineering and Public Policy, to be completed in Spring 2025. My research is in the area of healthcare sustainability, examining the complex interdependencies between the health sector, the environment, and public health outcomes. Passionate about safeguarding human health and the ecosystems it relies on; I am interested in understanding the societal transformations needed to meet human needs while respecting the planet’s boundaries. My work aims to identify actionable pathways toward sustainability and resilience, ensuring a healthier future for both people and the environment.
